Must Watch Chinese Dance TV Shows

Similar to the American show, World of Dance, a popular Chinese dance show called Dance Smash is a dance competition show in China where contestants are judged with a full panoramic shot of their dance moves using state-of-the-art technology. On the show dancers, who are professionally trained in various genres of dance perform and compete against each other.

There are two seasons of the show that also features popular actors, singers, and dancers who watch, react and judge the show. A key feature of the show is to view a panoramic shot of a highlight dance moves and dancers share their reaonsing for choosing the move that they have highlighted and what it represents in their piece.

Another popular show on dance is Born to Dance or 舞蹈生 (Wu Dao Sheng). These dancers compete against each other, pushing their limits and showcasing their skills in thrilling performances. The show not only focuses on technical excellence but also highlights the personal journeys, dreams, and challenges faced by the contestants. With a mix of intense training, emotional storytelling, and stunning choreography, "Born to Dance" offers a captivating and inspirational glimpse into the world of dance and the dedication required to pursue one's dreams.

All dancers will live and practice for a period of 100 days, and will undergo different rigorous assessments at different stages. There is no elimination in this program. At the end of the program, only 5 dancers will be able to obtain personal exclusive rights on the glory stage of the finals.

The show 舞蹈世界 (Wu Dao Shi Jie), which translates to World of Dance features groups of dancers from the top dance academies in China to perform. This show demonstrates many styles of regional Chinese dances and goes into depth about the creation of some of the dances. Furthermore, the show also highlights the technique and skill of the dancers with a performance of purely difficult tricks.
